Father's words
My dear child, in the parable of the great banquet, the invited guests made every excuse not to come — so the host sent his servants out to bring in the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. That picture says something important: the table of my kingdom has always been set for those the world pushes to the margins. In your church or small group, you can be the one who 'opens the door' — the one who walks up to a new face, or notices who always ends up sitting alone. Welcome isn't a title or a role; it's a posture of the heart. When you help someone feel like they truly belong, that is love made real.
Scripture
「He also said to the one who had invited him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, don’t call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.」
— Luke 14:12 (WEB)
Prayer prompts
- This Sunday or at your next gathering, look around for someone who could use a simple, warm hello.
- Ask your Heavenly Father to make you a person who helps others feel genuinely welcome — not just someone who stays comfortable with familiar faces.
